We are currently seeking volunteers for the following positions. Find a position that’s a fit for you, then complete this application. Call Nedra Young at 502.292.6182 with any questions.

Intake Specialist
Greet tax client, verify identification, make sure client has all needed documentation, determine eligibility, determine type of return, answer basic questions, control waiting room (must be certified on basic level).

Greeter
Greet tax clients, make sure they are signed in, verify identification, give list of required documentation to clients, control waiting room.

Tax Preparer
Prepare tax returns based on level of certification, answer tax law questions based on level of certification, visually verify all data entered on tax return, verify documentation is valid and for the current year.

Site Coordinator
Prepare and e-file tax returns up to the intermediate or advanced level, ensure quality review process, answer tax questions, assist preparers when needed, verify all documentation needed is collected and all signatures are obtained that are needed, ensure IRS forms are e-filed or mailed appropriately, make sure all client data is stored securely and site runs smoothly.

Site Coordinator Assistant E-filer
Assist Site Coordinator with electronic filing and management of the site as well as prepare taxes up to an intermediate and/or advanced level.

FAST Coordinator
These volunteers must be IRS Intermediate Certified or higher. They will provide an opportunity for financial education by teaching taxpayers about return preparation as well as enable direct resources to be applied to assisting taxpayers with more complex returns.

Volunteer Support
Provide snacks, drinks, make copies, control wait room flow.

Traveling Tax Site Team
All positions are available as listed above. The traveling tax site team will go on-location to companies and community centers throughout Jefferson County to serve families hardest to reach.

Self-help Tax Site
“Self-help” tax site locations are located at existing tax sites, volunteers will help filers use online, free e-filing software will be made available for use. Volunteers will be trained to assist with filers using computers and online filing.
